Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a sleepy part of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. This West Island, to those who have never heard of it, is an extensive part that stretches from Lachine to the west. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on the West Island, although it's not the case. Brugel was a young woman living in Courtice Ontario, just outside Oshawa. When she was a child, she wanted to be the next big thing in her career, but a sudden expansion of her body made it impossible. In an article from the Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6 feet one inch. As soon as I outgrew the size of my male friends, I stopped. Many former dancers turn into acting. In the instance of Brugel, it was the result of a recommendation from her high school drama teacher. A teacher suggested that she try out for a school production. The school's production was a success and she was selected to play the main role for Anne of Green Gables after she had a go at. It led to the award of a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Through the years since Brugel has been offered roles in more than 60 productions across the big and small screens, attracting the greatest interest when she was offered the character of Rita on the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel made an appearance on only a handful of instances in the initial season of the show The Handmaid's Tale. She was the sole Canadian member.
